How to Receive Healing?

Healing is one of the ways God demonstrates His love, compassion, and power. Throughout the Bible, we see Jesus healing the sick, restoring the broken, and bringing hope to those who came to Him.

Matthew 8:17 (NKJV) says:
“He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”
So, how can we receive healing from God?

1. Know God as Your Healer

God revealed Himself as the One who heals.

“For I am the LORD who heals you.”

Exodus 15:26 (NKJV)
“Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases.”

Psalm 103:2-3 (NKJV)

We can come to God knowing that He cares about every area of our lives.

2. Come to Jesus in Faith

Jesus healed many people who came to Him in faith.

“When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, ‘If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.’”

Mark 5:27-28 (NKJV)
Her faith was not in the garment—it was in Jesus.
“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

Mark 5:34 (NKJV)

Our faith must be placed in Jesus Christ, not in an object or a person.

3. Pray and Ask Others to Pray

Jesus invites us to bring our needs to Him.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
Matthew 7:7 (NKJV)

The Bible also encourages us to seek prayer from the church.

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”
James 5:14-15 (NKJV)

You do not have to face sickness alone. Ask trusted believers to stand with you in prayer.

4. Stand on God's Word and Don't Lose Heart

Faith grows through God's Word.

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

Continue to pray, read Scripture, worship, and trust God—even when the answer does not come immediately.
Luke 18:1 (NKJV) teaches us to “always pray and not lose heart.”
Faith does not mean denying your circumstances. It means trusting God in the midst of them.

5. Seek Wisdom and Appropriate Care

Prayer and medical care can work together. Seeking medical attention does not mean you lack faith. Pray for God's healing and wisdom while receiving appropriate care from qualified professionals.

Conclusion:

Jesus is our hope and our healer. Whatever you are facing, bring it to Him.

“Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved, For You are my praise.”

Jeremiah 17:14 (NKJV)

Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep seeking Jesus.

I come before You and ask You to touch my body and bring healing.

You are the Lord who heals me. I place my trust in Jesus Christ and ask You to strengthen me, restore me, and give me peace.
